How Retention Works

Free Plan: 1 Hour

Free users: you get 1 hour to download both your original PDF and the redacted version once processing is done.

Download Period

Download your redacted PDF within the 1-hour window. Once you download it, the file is queued for deletion — no copies stay on our servers after the window closes.

Automatic Deletion

Automatic and permanent deletion — irreversible. When the retention window closes, both files are wiped from our infrastructure. There's no way to recover them.

No Extensions

The 1-hour window can't be extended — that's non-negotiable. If you need more time, download your redacted PDF right after processing.

What Gets Deleted

Your original PDF upload
Your redacted PDF (after we process it)
Any temporary files created during processing
The redaction summary (once you've downloaded it)
Job metadata after the retention period ends

What We Never Keep

The content of your PDFs (text, images, metadata)
The areas you selected for redaction
Your files after the retention window closes
Any copies after you download your redacted PDF

Download Your Redacted PDF Promptly

The retention window is intentionally short. Download your redacted PDF as soon as it's ready — once deleted, files cannot be recovered.

Automatic detection works with text-based PDFs; scanned or image-only PDFs can still be marked manually.
