Security Measures
Encrypted Transfer
All file uploads and downloads happen over HTTPS. Your documents are encrypted in transit and cannot be intercepted during transfer.
No Human Review
Your files are processed entirely by automated systems. No employees or third parties can access your documents during or after processing.
No AI Training
Your documents are never used to train AI models. We do not retain, share, or use your files for any purpose beyond delivering the redaction service.
Automatic Deletion
Both the original and redacted files are automatically deleted after the retention window. Free tier files are available for up to 1 hour.
Metadata Stripping
PDF metadata is stripped during every redaction operation. Author names, creation dates, software info, and custom fields are removed automatically.
Content Never Logged
We do not log the content of your PDFs or the text you choose to redact. The redaction summary is for your reference only and is not stored after download.

After processing is complete and the retention window expires, the following are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered:
How a File Flows Through Our System
1. Upload
Your PDF is uploaded over HTTPS to temporary cloud storage. A unique, unguessable job ID is assigned.
2. Processing
Your file is processed by automated servers. PyMuPDF permanently removes the content you selected. Metadata is stripped.
3. Download
You receive a time-limited signed URL to download the redacted PDF. The URL expires after a short window.
4. Auto-Deletion
Both original and redacted files are deleted when the retention window expires. Free tier: redacted PDFs are available for up to 1 hour.

RedactionPDF is designed to support privacy-sensitive workflows. However, using this tool alone does not constitute compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or any other regulatory framework.
