What happens after I download the redacted PDF?
Once you request a download, the redacted PDF gets scheduled for deletion shortly after. If you don't download it, it stays available for up to 1 hour.
Can I download the redacted file later?
Redacted PDFs are only available temporarily. Anonymous redacted files are available for up to 1 hour, so grab them soon after processing.
Scanned PDF Questions
Does RedactionPDF support scanned PDFs?
Auto detection works best with text-based PDFs. For scanned or image-based PDFs, you can still redact visible areas manually.
Why can't scanned PDFs always be detected automatically?
Scanned PDFs often store text as an image rather than selectable text. Auto detection works best when the PDF has a text layer.
Can I manually redact a scanned PDF?
You can use manual redaction to mark visible areas on scanned or image-based PDFs. Auto sensitive data detection might not pick up image-only text.
Does RedactionPDF include OCR detection?
OCR-based auto detection isn't in the standard workflow yet. Auto detection works best with text-based PDFs.
