Your Privacy Principles
We built RedactionPDF with privacy as a core requirement — not an afterthought.
Secure Upload
All files are uploaded over encrypted HTTPS connections. Your PDFs are transferred securely to temporary cloud storage for processing.
Temporary Processing
Files are stored in temporary cloud storage only while being processed. Processing happens entirely server-side — there is no local browser-based processing.
Automatic Deletion
Original PDFs are deleted after processing. Redacted PDF retention depends on your plan and selected retention option.
No AI Training
Your documents are never used to train AI models. No human review of your files occurs. Your PDFs remain private and are never shared with third parties.
Metadata Cleanup
Every redaction automatically strips PDF metadata including author, creator, creation date, and modification date. This hidden information is removed along with the content.
Permanent Redaction
Content is permanently removed at the PDF data level using PyMuPDF. Redacted content cannot be copied, searched, or recovered — it is completely eliminated, not just visually covered.

Before uploading a PDF to AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, consider redacting personal data and metadata first.
Automatic detection works with text-based PDFs; scanned or image-only PDFs can still be marked manually.
