How We Handle Your Files
A transparent workflow for secure PDF redaction. From upload to automatic deletion, your files are processed temporarily without AI training or manual review.
Upload PDF to start redacting
Drag and drop your PDF here, or browse from your device. This direct upload stays in the first viewport.
File Processing Workflow
Every file goes through the same secure, temporary processing workflow designed to protect your privacy while delivering a permanent redaction result.
1. Upload
You upload your PDF over HTTPS. The file is stored temporarily in secure processing storage.
2. Temporary Processing
Your file exists only for the duration of your active session. It is not permanently stored on our servers.
3. Manual Redaction
You draw redaction boxes over any area you want to remove. You control what gets redacted.
4. Review-first Regex Detection
For text-based PDFs, regex patterns suggest potential sensitive items. You review every suggestion before it becomes a redaction box.
5. Metadata Cleanup
Standard PDF metadata such as author, creator, timestamps, subject, keywords, and custom fields are removed during processing.
6. Download
You download the redacted PDF with metadata cleanup applied. The original file is not preserved.
7. Automatic Deletion
Temporary files are automatically deleted after processing completes, according to the retention policy.
Our Processing Principles
RedactionPDF is built on a foundation of privacy-first processing. Here is what we do and do not do with your documents.
No AI Training
Uploaded documents are never used to train AI models. No human review of your files occurs during standard processing.
No Manual Review
Files are processed automatically. RedactionPDF staff do not inspect your documents as part of the standard workflow.
Temporary Storage Only
Files are only available during active processing. Once your session ends or retention expires, all temporary copies are removed.
User Responsibility
You are responsible for reviewing the final downloaded PDF to confirm redactions were applied as expected.
Your Responsibility
After downloading your redacted PDF, you should review it to confirm that redactions were applied correctly. RedactionPDF gives you full control over which areas to redact, and you review every regex detection suggestion before it becomes a redaction box.
If the result does not meet your expectations, you can upload the original PDF again and adjust your redaction boxes. The final review step is your responsibility to ensure the output matches your intent.
